The lists above is only a guide to give you some idea what foods are alkaline or acidic forming foods. Note the acidity of the food itself is not necessary acidic forming foods. For example lemon is a very acidic food in itself but after digestion and assimilation is very alkaline. For maintaining an alkaline pH your diet should be 60% alkaline forming foods and 40% acidic forming foods. To restore health, your diet should consist of 80% alkaline forming foods and 20% acid forming foods. Generally, alkaline forming foods include most green vegetables, peas, beans, lentils, spices, herbs and seasonings, most fruits, and seeds and nuts. Acid forming foods, generally include meat, fish, poultry, eggs, grains and legumes.


To maintain good health eat 60% Alkaline foods to 40% acidic foods. For improving health, 80% alkaline and 20% acidic foods.
